Aims and Objectives
The research strategy at RIST has been developed in consultation with leading scientists in prominent institutions in India and abroad. Given our current resources, efforts are targeted at areas of direct relevance to Northeast India and national priorities, with high expectations for important outcomes.
The proposed aims and objectives of RIST are as follows:
- To conduct research in mathematics, natural and computational sciences.
- To promote inter-, multi-, and trans-disciplinary research among natural sciences, as well as between natural and social sciences.
- To provide a forum for collaborative activities within the international science community through extended schools and other appropriate events.
- To nurture capacity building in science and technology through doctoral and other academic programs.
- To collaborate with other academic institutions in the development and implementation of innovative curricula and programs.
- To organize meetings to promote and disseminate advances in science and technology within the state, the nation, and the world.
- To promote public involvement in science, technology, and the environment.
